My friend Felix had the great idea to understand more about our clients. In each box of eggs there is a piece of paper with the following instructions.
Dear Eggcellent client.
We would love you to share the following with us;
1. Why do you buy our eggs?
2. What is your favourite dish to prepare with our eggs?
To answer these questions please go to my blog at www.farmerangus.co.za or scan this QR code.

Thank you for supporting our regenerative agriculture project.

If you are happy to oblige us then put your answers into the comments section below.

Our laying hens have the finest taste in wine. More about our wine label design, which is a tribute to my mother, is here and more about carbon negative wine is here.
Thanks

We only buy these eggs because they are amazing and I especially love that they are raised in a biodynamic farm!
1. I completely trust your eggs to be free of all the nasties. It makes me physically Ill to eat “conventional”eggs. You don’t greenwash, you are what you say you are And yours don’t come with a heavy carbon footprint
2. The kids love Spanish omelette. For me it’s a quick and easy addition to salad lunch on the go.
Oh and we rather love your chicken photos 😊
Hens are pasture raised with a good diet.
Soil is looked after.
No nasty chemicals.
Simple boiled eggs is my favorite.
I buy your eggs because of their freshness and presentation and tastiness.
Pleasantly surprised to get three pure white eggs in a box of 6. First ever for me – thank you.
Apart from various baking recipes, nothing beats a easy-over fried egg done in butter. Omelettes are also good, but your egg’s yolks have a rich orange-yellow colour, not a pale hue which I understand is an indication of freshness.
Fantastic,,I use your eggs for all my baking of cakes , pastry and milk breads ,keep up the good quality,Thank you from Genevieve Gaunt
Hi Farmer Angus. My first call is “support biodynamic and regenerative farmers” and that is why I buy your eggs. Secondly, it simply makes sense to buy eggs that come from the kind of conditions that you create for the hens on the farm, and lastly, because I can get these great eggs at my local Spar!
I love making omelettes with grated cheese, cherry tomatoes and cuts of Farmer Angus prosciutto on them.
Thank you for great food!
I buy your eggs because they taste better than other brands and also look better with a nice yellow yolk.
My favourite egg dish Eggs Benedict, but scrambled on or boiled with toast come close.
Healthy, natural, no added chemicals – free range hens…
Scrambled eggs, of course (and ramen)!
1. I buy your eggs for the rich, multidimensional flavour, egg yolk intensity, and your story about the chickens living conditions, I’ve personally visited and seen them and their unique homes, your employee ethos and sustainably and regeneration commitment. 2. My favourite egg dish is 2 poached eggs on buttery sourdough toast, topped with avo and coriander mash, tomato and red/yellow peppers which kinda embraces all elements of a balanced hearty meal and is usually enjoyed outside in my garden.
I buy your eggs because they are simply the best, for all the right reasons. I like it that the hens have a good life. Favourite dish is plain boiled eggs, or an omelets with cream cheese and honey.
Love the sustainable, regenerative and cruelty free way these eggs are produced. They are the best option at the spar where I usually shop.
1. I buy your eggs because they are regeneratively farmed, and I believe that farming that way will heal the land and is the way forward for the planet in general. It makes practical sense. Of course, I also buy them because they are free of glyphosates and pesticides and are laid by healthy hens. I’ve been on one of your farm tours and have seen it for myself.
2. I cook with eggs every morning, and love the versatility of eggs. So it’s difficult to choose a favourite. Plain old eggs and bacon is always great, but recently I made Quiche Lorrain -which was delicious!
I only buy Farmer Angus eggs (from Alphen Spar, Constantia), because they are the best eggs and because I believe they are laid by happy chickens. They are particularly good for fluffy omelettes.
1. Trustworthy eggs from healthy, happy and ethically treated hens.
2. Scrambled eggs cooked with Ghee every single day.
Brilliant nutrition from a great company
We buy Farmer Angus eggs because we believe in responsible farming – we love that your hens are treated humanely and get to graze freely, that they are fed a diet free of any nasties, and that you’re giving back to the community with your feeding scheme. And your eggs taste amazing, whether poached, boiled and/or in an egg-fried rice!
Good morning.
1. I buy your eggs because of what you passionately protect and believe in.
2. I have two favourite meals: your eggs, boiled, on top of my favourite salad and scrambled eggs. The best!
It feels good knowing that I am eating ‘healthy and happy’ eggs and I feel very privileged to be able to buy the best.
I became aware of your Brand Name during the Covid Pandemic when I read an open letter in which you explained your very progressive and ethical stance on mandates and vaccines for your farm workers. I often saw your meat products in stores, but being a vegetarian, I was delighted to discover your eggs last year and have been brand loyal ever since (except when there is no stock). Where my food comes from, matters to me and I am grateful that the eggs which I consume came from a farm where the welfare and integrity of farm workers, the land and the animals matter a great deal to you.
I love moist scrambled egg on a bed of sautéed greens (preferably from my small veggy garden), served with a slice of sourdough bread (from the same store where I buy my eggs).
I buy your eggs to support happy chickens and promote non intensive and none industrial farming. I have the privilege to be able to pay more for higher quality and would much rather contribute to animal and environmental conscious companies 🙂
Your chickens are genuine free range not hen house. Even though they are about R30 more expensive I like to support your genuine free range & care for your staff … genuine product. Thank you. Because it feels like everyone is on the egg bandwagon now claiming free range but upon research they are just chickens squashed into a hen house & fed, not free to roam.
Hi 😊👋🏽 all of the above, I trust the feedback is not gmo corn and I love that it’s an employee owned business YaY, well done and thank you
Oh dear I meant feed not feedback 😕
Your way of farming supports our low-toxin lifestyle.
I only buy your eggs as they are regeneratively farmed, are GMO free, how the hens are treated and that you are 85% employee owned. I also love the taste and can taste the difference. I also love making scrambled eggs and don’t add anything to them and they are just so creamy (and dreamy). I love that when I buy the eggs that I contribute to a feeding scheme as well. The carton is also recyclable – thank you for your passion and commitment in how you farm overall.
Making scrambled eggs for my Coton de Tulear doggies (not kidding) – they love them, served with a sprinkle of beef biltong. And every now and then I make some for myself 😉
Love the eggs and the fact that they come from happy healthy chickens
We buy them because:
we trust the chickens are being treated ethically
supporting local businesses
no funny stuff in the feed.
(The presentation is also nice, and chicken/farm photo on the box)
Scrambled eggs with feta and homegrown spinach is our go-to 🙂
I use your eggs for many things but mostly for eggs fried in butter on toast in the morning. Breakfast of champions!
All your produce is absolutely excellent because of your ethics and love!
I love good old boiled eggs with salt and/or tabasco 🙂 or an omlette with raw cheese yum
I buy your eggs because they are a good size and they are gmo-free. I know the chickens are well-cared for. I particularly enjoy baking cakes with them.
I buy your eggs because I believe your hens are treated humanely and live out a happy natural life. I hope that they are treated with antibiotics only if they are sick and that they are not fed hormones to grow faster. They are free to roam on green grass and eat worms and insects. 🐛
My favourite dish to make is a frittata with roasted vegetables and feta cheese.
Thanks for doing what you do!
Love to support local farmers and regenerative agriculture and happy to know the money goes to people not big corporations. Our favourite dish is shakshuka with Farmer Angus eggs – nothing better!
1. Farmer Angus chickens form a valuable part of the regenerative farming system. The chickens are fed a GMO-free diet.
I’ve met Angus and some of the others at Farmer Angus, and have a personal connection to the produce that I don’t have with other egg suppliers.
2. I use the yolks to wash my hair, and slow-cook the whites for my dog. Win-win.
I buy your eggs for the rich, multidimensional flavour, egg yolk intensity, and your story. And I can get it at my local Spar . Now I bought your Salami as well, same reason with the pigs. I hesitated to buy the other sliced ham etc. , because I can’t see the product / slices in the package.
I had my own (French Maran) hens for many years when I lived in the English countryside. The yolks of these eggs are bright yellow just like those used to be. Fresh and from happy hens. Love a sunny side up egg fried in butter on sourdough or a softboiled egg on toast for my lunch. Sunshine food!
– 100% Pasture Reared Hens
– Raised on regenerative agriculture
– No bad stuff
– healthy cage free, pasture reared hens
– eggs taste delicious
– farmer Angus radical transparency
– great tasting
I bought your eggs because I care about chicken welfare, and you seem to treat them kindly.
I only buy Farmer Angus eggs because they are raised on a biodynamic farm.
Most other “free range” eggs are definitely not free range.
I walked on Spier and saw their hens, all walking freely in the pastures. Thank you Angus and team for such pure eggs.
We buy your eggs because they are from free graze, GMO free hens. Similarly we buy your cold meat because it is nitrite free. As a family we are very conscious of putting only the best, natural food into our home, and your products are aligned with that thinking.
I buy the eggs because I support ethical compassionate farming practices. I know that battery chickens lead an excruciatingly cruel life. Many of the so called “free range” eggs sold in this country are a scam. Pasture-raised chickens lay far better tasting eggs which are great for baking. I don’t want my family consuming GMO products nor products containing hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and fungicides.
My favourite thing to make is Huevos a la Mexicana (Mexican Style Scrambled Eggs).
Because they’re glyphosate and GMO free, and the hens genuinely range in grass with real bugs, and sleep in egg mobiles. Favourite prep: scrambled 🤗
I buy your eggs because I trust that your chickens have good natural food, roam naturally and freely, are healthy and as a result .. produce eggs that are good for you
My favourite dish is poached egg with pesto and parmesan avo!
I buy your eggs because of how you treat and feed your chickens. I also support small business who supply your products rather than purchasing from large retail outlets.
Favourite is any type of breakfast eggs scrambled, fried, poached as well as perfect for baking.
Hi Angus, I buy from Organic Route in Hout Bay where I live. I started my YouTube channel organicrootsa with an interview with TJ at Love in a Bowl which supports the local community with organic vegetables. I would love to come see you at Spier soon, we could chat over an omelette.
I enjoy the fact that I can trust that Farmer Angus products are intentionally farmed to the highest regenerative standards available in South Africa.
My favorite egg meal is plain and simply boiled eggs, with a little drizzle of exceptional olive oil and a sprinkle of salt.
I buy your eggs because you practice regenerative farming and your hens roam free and do not have a miserable life trapped in the heartless jaws of commercial farming. 💗 Favourite dish: fried onion, tomato and eggs on a pile of spinach! 👌🏼
We eat fried eggs every morning and Farmer Angus eggs are always fresh and have a farm egg flavour.
Whether we eat scrambled or omelettes it just tastes better.
Thankyou for the eggcellent product
Eggs are rich and fantastic I use them to make homemade egg pasta and in general cooking. Thank you 😋
We visited Spier and saw the fabulous conditions in which your hens live and how organic their feed is. Although the eggs are more expensive they simply taste so much better than the average “free range” supplier. Our favourite egg dish is simply scrambled eggs with sliced avo on toast and a drizzle of chilli oil.
1. Your eggs are produced by properly fed hens.
2. Favorite dish 》 omelets or soft fried eggs in olive oil.
I have just discovered your wonderful eggs! I am so happy that you are farming as sustainably as possible and keep happy hens! It’s important for us to know where our food is produced and by whom.
I buy these eggs because the hens diets are disclosed and it’s sourced from regenerative farming and they are organic!
My favorite dish to make is boiled eggs in the morning with some salt!
Principles practices quality and health of my family. Thank you everyone for these eggs
I had a stem cell transplant a year ago, so I buy your eggs and other products because I want to eat better food.
I love poached or fried eggs for breakfast ❤️
I love the taste of the eggs, and support regenerative farming. And that it is an employee owned business.
As I compost all soft cardboard, I don’t like the shiny labels and extra Qr code label. This is unnecessary waste, all has to be peeled off. A simple compostable label including the QR code is much better and more in line with your ethos!
Thank you so much for writing to us.
We started the process last week of getting away from those stickers.
Going to take some time to run down our stock but I can assure you that are going to get rid of those stickers.
