The hotel on our Spier Wine Farm reopened a few weeks ago after a year long renovation. Our small contribution to this total upgrade has been the burger patty. It is on the lunch menu.
It took us many attempts to get the right muscles from our beef, the right amount of fat, the right grind, the right temperature of the meat and the right ageing pre processing.
No meal is complete without a starter and how better to get yourself into the terroir of our farm with a charcuterie platter and a glass of my Chenin Blanc. You can read about our wines here and about our no added nitrate/nitrite/phosphate charcuterie (the only in the country) here.
The buns are baked on the farm at the Vadas bakery.
If you are that type that eats your burger with a knife and fork you have been catered for by being able to use one of the knives that have been made for Spier. The wood is from a wine barrel that was used to produce a Spier wine.
Washing it all down with a pot of organic Rooibos tea is advised. We grow the Rooibos on our farm.
You can book lunch here. Dinner you can book here. The dinner menu is here.
Please help the staff get used to the new hotel and it’s systems.
